Equity Funds

Equity funds invest in stocks of companies which are traded on exchanges (ex. NYSE, NASDAQ, etc.) The objective of the fund further determines the type of securities which may be included in the portfolio (ex. large, mid or small cap and growth or value, etc.).

Certain mutual funds may have a value orientation, meaning the fund invests in companies the portfolio managers believe are undervalued in the marketplace in relationship to their true value and projected growth rate.

Other funds may have a growth orientation. These funds invest in companies the portfolio managers believe have the potential for long-term capital growth over time.

Core funds invest in both value and growth securities, thereby attempting to offer investors the benefits of both types of investment strategies.

Diversified Stock Fund - large cap core
